  1. MYTHiCRAFT is a writer’s retreat and storytelling symposium with a theme—“Our Stories—Ourselves”. The process of crafting stories can help transform our lives—hence the theme. Teachers, writers and learners may gather on the beautiful University of Maine at Fort Kent campus to share their work, be inspired by one another and be guided by experienced writers and crafters of language.
Participants will be sharing work they have already written and crafting some new work under the guidance of experienced, published writers. Teachers and storytellers will also be sharing their current research on myth, stories, legends, traditions, culture, heritage, etc. Our keynote speaker will share some collected tales with us as well as give us tips on storytelling.
Enrollment is limited in the workshops, and we would like to see one story or an abstract of a story, or three to five poems before you register. If you are interested in presenting work in the storytelling symposium, likewise, we would need to see an abstract. For more details on sending us your work for consideration or for more information on registration, please contact us ASAP at mythicraft@umfk.maine.edu
MYTHiCRAFT is scheduled for May 18th-21st. On campus housing and meal packages will be available at a discount upon early registration. Participants may also register for one course credit for either the poetry or fiction workshops. We look forward to seeing you at UMFK this summer!
